Its peacetime between Megastar Sharon Cuneta, her husband Kiko Pangilinan, and veteran columnist Cristy Fermin.
In a surprising yet heartening turn of events, the couple has officially withdrawn the cyber libel case they filed against Fermin, signaling the end of a months-long rift that once rocked the local showbiz scene.
On May 2024, Cuneta and Pangilinan filed a complaint against Fermin for what they described as “libelous and slanderous statements.” The specifics of the alleged remarks were never made public, but the tension between the personalities drew wide media attention.
Fast forward to 8 July 2025 — a photo shared by showbiz insider Ogie Diaz showed the three smiling together at the courthouse. According to Diaz, the reconciliation was sealed after Fermin issued a public apology on her YouTube program Showbiz Now Na! last 28 June.
“Ako, aminado ako na nasaktan si Sharon sa mga binitiwan ko dito,” Fermin said in her on-air mea culpa. “Ngayon, pwede kong sabihin — humihingi ako ng paumanhin kung nasaktan kita sa mga sinabi ko.”
She also stressed that humility doesn’t equate to weakness, adding that neither side wanted to destroy a relationship built over decades.
Though no official joint statement has been released by the three, the image of them standing side by side — smiling — spoke volumes.
