ORION, Bataan — The Philippine Coast Guard successfully rescued Monday the two aged fishermen who have been missing since Sunday.
This was confirmed by Lhorie Bautista, relative of the two missing fishermen who said that around 9 a.m. Monday, his missing relatives identified as Crispin Mendoza,70 and his companion Rogelio Pascual, 71, both of Barangay Lusongan, Orion town have been rescued and are now under their care and safe.
“We brought them to a clinic for checkup because they have slight wounds. Their banca conked out at the middle of the sea near Bulacan until they got lost,” Bautista told DAILY TRIBUNE in an interview.
“Because of string current, my two relatives tied their hands into their fishing boat for their protection until they were timely rescued by Coast guard as their boat was about to submerge,” Bautista said.
The two went out to catch fish Sunday despite the bad weather.
He thanked the Coast guard for their immediate action as soon as they aired their appeal for the two missing fishermen.
