A 31-year-old construction worker was arrested for robbery and sexual assault in Antipolo City on Friday morning, according to police.
The suspect, identified only by the alias Joffrey, is a resident of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Antipolo City.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim was asleep when the suspect broke into her home. He allegedly threatened her with a knife before sexually assaulting her, despite her pleas and resistance.
After the assault, the suspect fled the scene with the victim’s mobile phone worth P6,000 and P1,100 in cash.
Still reeling from the trauma, the victim reported the incident to Annex 2 of the Antipolo City Component Police Station. Based on her information and positive identification, officers launched a follow-up operation that led to the suspect’s arrest. However, the stolen items were not recovered.
Police are continuing their investigation and are preparing the necessary documents for the filing of charges.
