Around P3 million worth of marijuana plants were discovered at a backyard farm in Barangay San Fernando Sur on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) Director Police Col. Heryl Bruno, the suspect — a 56-year-old farmer identified only as “Reymund” — was found cultivating 12 marijuana plants in his yard.

Bruno said the plants weighed a total of 15,000 grams and were valued by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) at P3 million.

He commended the Cabiao Police Station as the lead unit in the operation, along with supporting units from NEPPO, for apprehending the high-value individual (HVI) suspect.

The suspect is currently detained at the male custodial facility of the Cabiao Police Station and is facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
