CL hauls top DoST socmed awards

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Two provinces in Central Luzon brought home top awards during the Department of Science and Technology (DoST) Creative Starbooks Social Media Contest held at Kalayaan Hall, SM Aurora, Taguig City Tuesday.

According to the DoST Region 3, the Provincial Science and Technology Office (PSTO) of Nueva Ecija and Tarlac won big during the event, with PSTO Nueva Ecija led by provincial director Leidi Mel B. Sicat winning the first place for the Starbooks Digital Storyteller Champion under the Creative Starbooks Social Media Content Category.

Meanwhile, the PSTO Tarlac led by Karen Y. Dañez won second place for the Best Scribe Award under the Creative Starbooks Social Media Content Category.

DoST 3 Regional Director Dr. Julius Caesar V. Sicat received the awards along with PSTO-NE director Leidi Mel B. Sicat, and PSTO-NE Starbooks deployment officer Ralph Louie C. Binene.

This year’s Starbooks Stakeholders’ Appreciation Day centers on giving emphasis to the importance of how Starbooks as a digital library, can open wider and more accessible learning opportunities to the learners.

The event highlights the promotion and appreciation of the role of Starbooks in terms of educational empowerment.
