RunRio Pride Run, one of the most colorful and liberating running events in the country, is making a grand return as it goes nationwide to celebrate the LGBTIQ+ community while rallying for equality and acceptance.
Co-presented by SM Supermalls, the multi-city event will take place in three key SM malls, bringing the festivities closer to more communities — 22 June at SM Seaside in Cebu; 29 June at SM Lanang in Davao; and 29 June at SM Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City.
The running event features race distances for every type of runner: 10K, 5K, 3K and a special 1K dog run. Participants can look forward to vibrant race kits that include colorful singlets, bibs and dog bandanas. Finishers will also receive loot bags and the much-coveted rainbow-colored finisher’s medal.
True to the values of inclusivity and representation, RunRio Pride Run 2025 will not have gendered categories. All participants, regardless of identity, will be recognized equally. The top 10 finishers in the 1K Dog, 3K, 5K, and 10K categories will be awarded.
Adding more flair to this year’s celebration is the costume contest, where runners can showcase their creativity through colorful, Pride-inspired outfits. Registered participants who want to join the contest must wear their race bibs and can display their costumes during the mainstage program, which will take place after the race send-offs.
As a bold celebration of the LGBTIQ+ community, queer artists will light up the stage with vibrant performances, adding energy and joy to the festivities. Exclusive discounts are available for registered runners at partner hotels, too.
