A suspected pack of illegal drugs weighing approximately 1 kilogram was found along the shoreline of Barangay Masintoc in Paoay, Ilocos Norte, and turned over to authorities on the morning of 13 June.
The package, wrapped in foil and labeled “freeze-dried durian” with foreign markings, is estimated to have a standard drug value of ₱6.8 million.
The operation was led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)–Ilocos Norte Provincial Office, with support from the Paoay Municipal Police Station led by PCPT Jackson Sugayen, the Ilocos Norte Police Intelligence Unit, the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, the Philippine Coast Guard, and RIU-1.
This follows the discovery of a similar package the night before, 12 June, along the shoreline of Currimao, Ilocos Norte, prompting tighter coordination among law enforcement agencies in the province.
