The Office of the Vice President (OVP) on Monday launched the OVP Libreng Sakay at the OVP Eastern Visayas Satellite Office in Tacloban City.
The OVP, in partnership with Uycinco City Tours Inc., held a ceremonial prayer and blessing for the bus on Monday morning.
The OVP’s Libreng Sakay Program aims to provide free rides to help the commuting public, and support existing public and private transport systems.
The OVP Libreng Sakay was launched on 3 August 2022. Currently, it has already nine libreng sakay buses serving through Metro Manila, Naic-Cavite, Cebu, Bacolod, Davao and Tacloban.
The program has already served a total of 2,347,369 commuters nationwide, according to the OVP’s Special Projects Division.
