An UZI-type gun, rounds of ammunition, and a magazine were seized from a man in Valenzuela City following the successful serving of a search warrant.
A search warrant issued by Judge Evangeline Mendoza-Frasco of Valenzuela RTC Branch 270 was immediately carried out by the operatives of Gen. T. De Leon Police Substation 2.
The suspect, identified by the alias “Manny,” 37, was already facing multiple charges prior to the operation.
An official from Gen. T. De Leon Substation said that Manny was previously arrested for the cases of robbery, illegal drugs, and illegal gambling.
The suspect is currently under detention at the Valenzuela City Police Station Headquarters in Barangay Malinta.
Manny will face charges in violation of Sec. 28 of Republic Act 10591, also known as An Act Providing a Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
Section 28 of the said law tackles the unlawful acquisition or possession of firearms and ammunition.
Police Brigadier General Josefino D. Ligan, District Director of the Northern Police District (NPD), lauded the operation, adding that “it’s a testament in strengthening the public’s trust towards the Philippine National Police to ensure public safety.”
