VP Sara: Eid’l Adha reminder of compassion

Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday reminded Filipinos of the importance of “sacrifice, faith and kindness” in her message for Eid ‘l Adha.
“On this occasion, may it serve as a reminder to all of us the meaning of sacrifice, faith, and kindness — values that are important not only to our faith but also in our daily lives as a people,” Duterte said in a statement.
She added that “the spirit of Eid‘l Adha serves as a reminder of courage, generosity, and compassion for others — qualities that are very important at the present time.”
The Vice President also expressed that her solidarity with Muslim Filipinos is “strengthened by brotherhood, respect and acceptance.”
“May we gratefully accept Allah’s blessings at all times,” Duterte said.
To recall, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. declared 6 June 2025 a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Adha, or the Feast of Sacrifice.
Eid’l Adha is a major holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide for three to four days, with most attending special prayers at major mosques and Islamic centers.
It is considered the second of two great Muslim festivals, the first being Eid al-Fitr
