Veteran comedian and former Eat Bulaga host Jimmy Santos traded the spotlight for the sidewalk in a recent vlog episode, taking on the challenge of being a street food vendor in Nueva Ecija—and quickly discovering the grit it demands.
“Napakahirap,” he admitted, describing the laborious work under the sun and occasional rain. “Pero kailangang magtiyaga para kumita.”
From waking up early to preparing ingredients and manning the stall, Jimmy immersed himself in the hustle, even reminding customers to be honest in paying. “Kung hindi sila magiging honest, paano naman ’yung nagtitinda?”
By the vlog’s end, Jimmy saluted the resilience of everyday Filipinos: “Ito ang buhay Pilipino. Sa maliit na kita, nagtitiyaga sila.”
