
Davao City — The Davao City Tourism Office is gearing up for the second edition of the Duaw Sa Dabaw Festival, scheduled from 5 to 29 June.
Davao Tourism head Jennifer Romero, during the 28 May Davao Peace and Security Press Corps briefing, said that preparations are still ongoing with barely a week left.
“For our second edition of Duaw sa Dabaw, we will still feature the four pillars of the festival and they are the Duaw Ta sa Dabaw Turismo, Duaw Ta sa Fiesta San Pedro, Duaw Ta Sa Music and Colors and Duaw Ta sa Lifestyle and Leisure,” she said.
Romero also laid out the festival’s lineup of activities starting 5 June with the Duaw Dabaw Opening at Rizal Park grounds.
Events include the Tskololate Ug Kape Crawl (5–29 June), Duaw Dabaw E-Sports Tournament (14 June), Reyna ng Dabaw 2025 Preliminaries (15 June at Ayala Malls Abreeza), Duaw Dabaw Invitational Volleyball League (19–21 June at Almendras Gym), Reyna ng Dabaw 2025 Coronation (20 June at RMC Petro Gazz Arena), and the Definitely Davao City Tour (21–22 June).
On 22 June, the Duaw Dabaw Pride Parade will run from Roxas to Rizal Park, followed by the Night of Fun and Colors at Rizal Park. From 25 to 29 June, Rizal Park will also host the Films and Arts Exhibit. The festival will conclude on 29 June with the Paghiusayaw Fiesta sa San Pedro at San Pedro Square.
Furthermore, Romero acknowledged the suggestion of Vice President Sara Duterte to include the house of former President Rody Duterte in Doña Luisa Subdivision, Matina as a tourist spot in the city tour.
“We honor that idea of Vice President Sara Duterte so we did include it,” Romero said.
The Police Regional Office XI is also preparing for its deployment during the festivities.
