Subic Bay Freeport — The BYD Philippines opened its newest branch inside this premier Freeport zone as the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) takes a step further on its thrust to make Subic Bay Freeport carbon-neutral by 2030.
During the grand opening of the BYD Subic Branch on 19 May 2025, SBMA Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño said that the opening of China’s leading electric vehicle maker here solidifies the stance of the agency in making this Freeport carbon-neutral.
He added that the Harmony Auto Philippines-operated branch of BYD will certainly sell a huge volume of electric vehicles that will not only reduce the harmful emissions, but will also make this premier Freeport its home.
The inauguration of the new BYD Subic Branch aims to provide consumers another option of owning a vehicle, one that is eco-friendly and energy-efficient. The BYD Subic Branch will have a showroom and service center, and will offer the newest and latest electric vehicles to residents of Central Luzon.
Aliño, BYD Philippines country head Adam Hu, BYD Cars Philippines managing director Bob Palanca and Harmony Auto Philippines GM Owen Meneses led the inauguration of the fifth franchise of the Chinese EV brand here in the country.
Bataan Congressman Albert Garcia, former Hermosa Mayor Anton Inton and Olongapo City Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr., as well as the SBMA Board of Directors, were present as guests of honors during the event.
