Chinese automaker FAWCAR is preparing to introduce three JOYEE new-energy vehicles in the Philippines on 22 October, with the S04 electric SUV, S08 hybrid SUV and N09 flagship coupe scheduled for unveiling in Manila.
The three models will expand the company’s local vehicle offerings across different segments, from electric SUVs for city use to larger hybrid vehicles and premium models.
JOYEE is FAWCAR’s new-energy vehicle brand, while BESTUNE handles its conventional fuel-powered models. Both brands operate under China’s FAW Group, which has more than 70 years of automotive manufacturing experience.
The JOYEE S04 is an electric SUV intended for urban motorists and young families who need a vehicle for daily travel and occasional trips outside the city.
According to FAWCAR, the S04 has a claimed driving range of 565 kilometers on a full charge, with energy consumption of 11.8 kilowatt-hours per 100 kilometers.
Its 2,750-millimeter wheelbase provides generous cabin space, while an aerodynamic body with a drag coefficient of 0.248 helps reduce air resistance.
The S04 also comes with a standard panoramic glass roof with heat insulation and a battery that uses high-polymer carbon nano-coating technology.
FAWCAR says these features suit tropical weather conditions, particularly the high temperatures experienced in countries such as the Philippines.
Safety provisions include a high-strength steel body and door anti-collision beams made from ultra-high-strength steel rated at 2,000 megapascals.
The JOYEE S08, meanwhile, is a full-size hybrid SUV intended for larger families and motorists who frequently travel outside urban areas.
It uses a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine developed for hybrid applications. The vehicle offers a claimed electric-only driving range of 210 kilometers and a combined driving range of up to 1,555 kilometers.
FAWCAR also reports fuel consumption as low as 3.9 liters per 100 kilometers when the battery charge is low.
These figures could appeal to motorists who want to use electric power for shorter trips while retaining the option of gasoline power for longer journeys.

FLAGSHIP JOYEE N09 coupe will be available with fully electric and range-extended powertrains, along with an 800-volt electrical architecture and ultra-fast charging capability.

ELECTRIC JOYEE S04 offers a claimed 565-kilometer driving range and a heat-insulated panoramic glass roof ahead of its Manila unveiling on 22 October.
The S08 has a reinforced body structure with nine horizontal and seven vertical sections. Its battery carries an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.
The SUV also comes with bio-based seats that the manufacturer says contain no formaldehyde.
Completing the lineup is the JOYEE N09, a flagship coupe that will be offered with fully electric and range-extended powertrains.
The N09 uses an 800-volt electrical architecture with support for 6C ultra-fast charging. It can accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in a claimed 6.4 seconds.
Cabin equipment includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor, a 23-speaker Dolby Atmos audio system and frameless power-operated doors.
Nine airbags provide occupant protection, while the vehicle has also received several international design awards.
FAWCAR says it has spent years adapting its products to Philippine driving conditions, particularly heavy rainfall, high temperatures, urban traffic congestion and varied road surfaces.
The company draws on the experience of FAW Group, which has produced and sold more than 65 million vehicles throughout its history. FAWCAR, meanwhile, reports cumulative production and sales of more than 2.2 million vehicles.
Multifortune Motors Incorporated is identified as FAWCAR’s authorized Philippine distributor, with its office located along Quezon Avenue in Quezon City.
Philippine prices, final local specifications and delivery schedules for the three upcoming models were not disclosed in the announcement.
