Senior citizens in Caloocan City who celebrated their birthdays in April and May are entitled to receive financial assistance and a birthday package from the local government.

The release of the assistance will begin on Thursday, 22 May, until next Wednesday, 28 May, for both residents of Caloocan City and North Caloocan.

Eligible recipients are advised to verify their names on the master list posted on the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) Facebook page. The list includes the names of recipients and their corresponding barangays.

The distribution will take place in local barangay courts across both North and South Caloocan.

OSCA emphasized that no payouts will be conducted at their city hall offices.

In North Caloocan, distribution will be done through barangays, with some areas following a schedule based on surname groupings.

On 22 May, from 8:00AM to 2:00PM, senior citizens residing in Barangay 178 with surnames beginning with A to M may claim their assistance at the San Vicente Ferrer Covered Court.

Those with surnames starting from N to Z can claim their financial aid at the same venue on Friday, 23 May, from 8:00AM to 11:00AM

Senior citizens from Barangay 177 with surnames from A to M may claim their assistance on Tuesday, 27 May, from 8:00AM to 11:00AM at the Barangay 177 Hall. Those with surnames from N to Z may claim theirs from 12:00PM to 2:00PM.

The same schedule applies to Barangay 171 residents, who may claim their aid at the Bagumbong Covered Court on Wednesday, 28 May.

Senior citizens who will personally receive the financial assistance are required to bring their OSCA-issued senior citizen ID, along with a photocopy that includes their thumbmarks.

The LGU strongly encourages representatives to claim on behalf of the senior citizens whenever possible.

In such cases, the representative must present an authorization letter, a photo of the senior and the representative holding a calendar showing the current month, and a photocopy of the senior’s OSCA ID with thumbmarks.

Kim Daeam Sabay, action officer of the Caloocan City OSCA, said that each qualified senior citizen will receive P500 in financial assistance, along with a birthday package containing pasta, spaghetti sauce, cheese, and meat products.

She added that the P500 aid is uniform for all eligible senior citizens, regardless of their age or economic status.
