Reelectionist Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has broken the all-time record for the most votes received by any Philippine senator in history.

The Commission on Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, released Thursday night the certificate of canvass report for senatorial candidates.

Go remained in the number one spot with 27,121,073 votes. He surpassed Robin Padilla’s 2022 record of 26,612,434 votes. Both belong to PDP Laban.

Comelec reported over 81 percent voter turnout for the national and local elections.

About 81.65 percent—or more than 55 million—of the total registered Filipino voters cast their votes, marking the highest voter turnout percentage for the country’s midterm elections to date.
