Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc. (AEV), the portfolio manager of the Aboitiz Group, underlined that transparent and reliable environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting can drive a stronger, more resilient Asia-Pacific
AEV joined global experts at the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) 58th annual meeting in Milan, Italy, for a high-level dialogue on sustainability reporting.
Representing both the Aboitiz Group and the private sector, AEV participated in the ADB-led session, “Unlocking the Power of Sustainability Disclosure.”
Ginggay Hontiveros-Malvar, AEV’s chief reputation and sustainability officer, joined fellow panelists from Italy’s Ministry of Economy and Finance, ANT Group, the International Sustainability Standards Board, and other global institutions to discuss how sustainability disclosures directly influence business decisions, climate-related investments and stakeholder confidence.
Hontiveros-Malvar shares how the OneNewAboitiz Sustainability Framework guides the Group in turning ESG commitments into real, measurable impact across its diverse businesses.
“As the Aboitiz Group transforms into the Philippines’ first techglomerate, we recognize that clear, honest sustainability reporting is critical to building the future we envision,” Hontiveros-Malvar said.
“It’s not just about meeting regulations — it’s about sharing our journey, aligning our values with our actions, and creating long-term value for our stakeholders and communities.”
The session also highlighted how the ADB is helping developing member countries adopt robust disclosure practices and green finance tools to meet climate goals.
ADB president Masato Kanda acknowledged the region’s challenges, from debt burdens to climate change, but emphasized that these uncertainties are also a powerful call to action.
