PALAUIG, Zambales — A town official’s house was strafed by bullets in Purok 5, Barangay Salaza of this town Monday evening, 5 May.
According to the Zambales Police Provincial Office (ZPPO), municipal secretary of Mayor of Masinloc Glen Elayda y Jalata and his family were inside his house around 10:45 p.m. of the said date when they heard successive gunshots outside.
The family ignored the gunshots and slept the whole night. In the morning, the 59-year-old town official saw his main gate riddled with multiple gunshots.
A statement from a neighbor of Elayda said that an unidentified motorcycle picked up the unidentified man wearing full mask on his face and thereafter fled away from the area going north. The man was the one who shot the front of Elayda’s house multiple times.
The ZPPO stated that the personnel of Palauig Municipal Police Station conducted a follow-up investigation to possible identification of the suspects.
Recovered from the crime scene are eight pieces of empty shell of Caliber 45 and one letter with black ribbon that was turned over to the police as evidence.
