A ‘sake’ kanpai!

The Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila will transform on 23 May into a sake lover’s dream and a full-fledged celebration of Japanese culture, craftsmanship and culinary flair.

Whether you’re a seasoned nihonshu enthusiast or just starting out on your sake journey, you’ll find the heart of Japan pulsing right here in Manila.

Sake master, Raymond Joseph shared, “For the past two decades, I’ve traveled across Japan, visiting breweries, learning from the masters, and discovering some of the best sake there has ever been. The more I learned, the more I realized I had to bring this experience back home.”

And that’s exactly what he did. “That’s why I made it my mission to elevate sake in the Philippines and introduce more people to what makes it Japan’s most celebrated beer. And that’s exactly what Sake Manila is all about.”

Sake Manila, now in its second year, continues to unite the flavors of Japan with Filipino appreciation — and this year’s edition promises to lift the standard even higher. Consider over 200 quality bottles of sake created directly from Japan’s best breweries, as well as unique pours of shochu, whiskey, gin, beer, and wine that you won’t find on your typical liquor rack.

You’ll have the unique opportunity to meet the creators themselves: master brewers, brand ambassadors and spirit specialists who will guide you through each taste, drop and storytelling.

The night also promises a feast unlike any other, designed to enhance every pour and taste note — and yes, the Iconic Tuna Parade is returning, with experienced chefs carving fresh tuna live onstage in a culinary and cultural spectacle.

Traditional Taiko drums will set the pace, while the relaxing tones of the Koto will transport you on a musical journey, all rounded out by live DJ sets that bring a modern edge to the night’s explosive energy.
