Balanga City, Bataan — AboitizPower, through its subsidiaries GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD), has committed P10 million to fund a five-year scholarship program for engineering students in Bataan province.

The two subsidiaries, collectively known as the Transition Business Group-North Luzon (TBG-NL), formalized the agreement with the Bataan Provincial Government during a Memorandum of Agreement signing held Friday at The Bunker in Balanga City.

The initiative will provide P2 million annually for five years, starting in April 2025, to support engineering scholars.

AboitizPower president and CEO Danel Aboitiz stated that the donation will enable the provincial government to fund deserving students enrolled in the Engineering Program at the Bataan Peninsula State University Main Campus and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines in Mariveles.

Bataan Governor Joet Garcia expressed his gratitude to AboitizPower, stressing that the scholarship program will provide opportunities for future engineers in the province to complete their education.

He added that these graduates will contribute to the development of Bataan.

The MoA signing was attended by Aboitiz, Garcia, Transition Business Group COO Celso “C3” Caballero, TBG-NL CEO Ronaldo Ramos, Vice Governor Cris Garcia, Mariveles Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion, and officials and representatives from BPSU and PUP Mariveles.

AboitizPower said that providing reliable, reasonable, and responsible energy solutions is as important as its commitment to addressing global power consumption challenges and their environmental impacts.

It also stressed its ongoing partnership with local and national governments to improve the welfare of communities and the environment in its areas of operation, aiming to empower homes and dreams while promoting positive environmental change.
