The Department of Education (DepEd) Region III has conferred the Best Stakeholder award on AboitizPower private limited partnerships GNPower Mariveles Energy Center (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin (GNPD), recognizing their sustained support for basic education initiatives in Central Luzon.
DepEd Region III awarded the Plaque of Recognition to GMEC and GNPD during the Regional Stakeholders’ Appreciation Program held on January 27, 2026, at the Hacienda Gracia Hotel and Resort in Lubao, Pampanga.
Carrying the theme “Strong Collaboration Creates High Impact and Progress,” the annual program honors the contributions of local government units, non-government organizations, and private sector partners that help advance quality basic education in the region.
AboitizPower said the recognition affirms the continued support and meaningful contributions of GMEC and GNPD to DepEd Region III. The company earlier received a Best Stakeholder award from the DepEd Bataan Division on 28 October 2025, underscoring its consistent partnership with the education sector.
Aboitiz Power Corporation has also been cited for its governance practices, having earned its fourth consecutive Golden Arrow Award and a four-arrow recognition in the 2025 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard, reflecting its commitment to transparency and responsible corporate governance.
The 2026 Best Stakeholder award was received in the presence of Dr. Carolina Violeta, EdD, CESO V, Bataan Schools Division superintendent. Representing AboitizPower were Andrea Mellind Madrid, GMEC-GNPD vice president for corporate services; Joseph Paolo Mendoza, GMEC-GNPD RSM manager; and Abigail Jacinto, GMEC-GNPD RSM program senior specialist.
