Seven people, all employees of a bakery, were brutally killed after being stabbed by unidentified assailants while they were asleep inside their workplace in Barangay Cupang, Antipolo City.
The Antipolo City Police confirmed the incident at around 8 a.m., two hours after it was initially reported by local watchmen who responded to the area at approximately 6 a.m.
According to the initial investigation, the suspects entered the JNB Malunggay Bakery while the victims were asleep inside the establishment.
Initially, five deaths were reported, but authorities later confirmed the death toll had risen to seven.
The exact number of suspects and how they gained access to the premises remain unclear. However, as of the latest update, a suspect — whose identity has yet to be released — has surrendered to authorities.
The motive behind the massacre is still under investigation.
