The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has approved a wage increase for domestic workers in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
Wage Order No. RIX-DW-05 grants a P900 increase to the monthly minimum wage of around 18,984 kasambahays in the region.
With the adjustment, the new monthly minimum wage for domestic workers in chartered cities and first-class municipalities is ₱5,500, while those in other municipalities will now receive ₱5,000.
A total of 2,491 kasambahays, or about 13 percent of all the domestic workers benefitting from the monthly wage increase, are under live-in arrangements.
