Pasig City mayoral candidate Sarah Discaya has enlisted food delivery riders for the house-to-house delivery of maintenance medicines to residents, particularly senior citizens, if she wins in the 12 May elections.
On Tuesday, Discaya’s St. Gerrard Charity Foundation distributed free thermal bags to food delivery riders in the city.
Geric Capones, a 29-year-old Food Panda rider for almost six years, expressed his gratitude to Discaya.
“These thermal bags are a huge help to our work,” Capones, a resident of Barangay Sto. Tomas, said.
“Some of our old thermal bags are already damaged or have holes. We had to buy these from Food Panda. So it’s a big deal for us to be given new thermal bags. I’m thankful to Ate Sarah because our earnings will improve if she hires us to deliver maintenance medicines,” he added.
Dominic Patanyag, a Grab rider from Barangay San Miguel, also thanked Discaya for her support.
