No less than National University (NU) chairman of the board Hans Sy spearheaded the 2nd Founder’s Golf Cup Tournament on Friday at the Tagaytay Midlands Golf Club in Tagaytay City.

NU president and chief executive officer Dr. Renato Carlos Ermita expressed gratitude to Sy for gracing the event that aims to raise funds for the athletes and other scholars of the school’s athletic program.

NU established the Founder’s Cup as an annual tradition, uniting distinguished alumni, employees, partners and benefactors for a shared purpose of supporting Nationalian scholars while uplifting sports culture.

In partnership with Boysen, Egghead Systems and Networks Inc. and Adidas, the fundraising event fosters a dynamic community of support for NU scholars to access quality education, further reflecting NU’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and social responsibility.

“I am thankful that you joined us today. It is a time to celebrate because this activity is a reunion of different people advocating for the same cause.” Ermita said as he emphasized the importance of this tourney that serves as the second major event for the school’s year-long celebration following the Bulldogs Run last February.

Leading the ceremonial tee-off were Sy, Boysen Philippines vice president Justin Ongsue and NU alumni Col. (Retd) Reynaldo Bajet.

Other notable attendees were showbiz personality Richard Yap, former Philippine Basketball Association player Atoy Co, and NU alumni athletes, the Yu brothers.
