Delegates and international journalists attending the 49th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit will be able to purchase commemorative stamps, postcard collections, and send mail directly from the summit’s press venue in Pasay City.

The Department of Tourism (DoT) and the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) formalized an agreement Wednesday to set up a dedicated postal service station inside the International Media Center at the World Trade Center.

Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay and PHLPost postmaster general and CEO Maximo C. Sta. Maria III signed the agreement as part of inter-agency preparations for the country’s hosting of the summit.

“Through our official postal operator, we will bring the Philippines closer to the world through something as simple yet meaningful as postcards, stamps, and mailing services, available to all delegates at the International Media Center,” Angara-Mathay said.

“These postcards and stamps are our invitation to the world. We hope to share not only the beauty of our destinations but also the stories, traditions, and cultural identity that make the Philippines truly loved by many,” she added.
