SM Foundation (SMFI) Inc. continues its dedication to sustainable development and community empowerment by launching its “Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan” (KSK) program on sustainable agriculture in Orion and Pilar. The Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan was officially launched at SM City Bataan Event Center yesterday.
This year, 120 farmers from the municipalities of Orion and Samal are participating in the KSK program. The event was attended by representatives from various partner government agencies, including D planners, Department of Agriculture, Department of Trade and Industry, Dept of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Labor and Employment, SM Markets and representatives from Local Government Unit of Orion and Pilar.
KSK graduates Ms. Maricel Jose Santos of Gugo Matatag and Mercy Pacat of Eco Bloom shared their inspiring success stories, expressing gratitude to the SM Foundation for equipping them with the skills and opportunities to build a sustainable livelihood.
Through the KSK program, they discovered their passion for farming and have since turned it into a source of income. Today, they proudly sell their homegrown produce at the SM Sunday Market.
The launch of Kabalikat sa Kabuhayan is one of the missions of SM Foundation to promote sustainable agriculture and empower farming communities throughout the country.
By converging collaborative partnerships and implementing innovative solutions, SMFI continues to strive for an innovative and more sustainable future for all.
