LAMITAN CITY, Basilan — The Ministry of Public Works — Basilan District Engineering Office (MPW-BDEO) is seriously focusing on constructing new roads and road networks and improving old and dilapidated roads in the province aimed at fostering peace, driving economic growth, and improving the lives of the people in the province.

MPW Basilan District Engineer Kasim A. Hasanin said yesterday that constructing new roads and road networks including upgrading existing ones will enhance connectivity between key areas and at the same time will improve the province’s road infrastructure.

Hasanin said that improving the province’s road network will stimulate economic growth, improve access to services and facilitate the movement of people and goods within the province and the region.

“This project is not just about building roads. It’s about connecting communities, creating opportunities and fostering a brighter future for the Bangsamoro people. We are committed to working together to ensure the successful implementation of this project,” Hasanin explained.

Hasanin said, “As the MPW Basilan District Engineer, I am reminded daily of the importance of infrastructure development, not just in terms of roads, bridges, and buildings, but also the way we build trust and connection with our communities.”

According to Hasanin, his office is presently in collaboration with the 11 local chief executives of the Basilan Province, to ensure the total success of all infrastructure projects funded by the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao through the MPW in the province.
