Threat actors are creatively undergoing their metamorphosis, which is why a global player in cybersecurity, among other services, is ready to protect its clients, especially now that they have rebranded and acquired a new partner to fortify their leadership in technology in the Asia Pacific region.

On Friday, top officials of the erstwhile Micro-D International (MDI) Inc. announced that they have rebranded to NOVARE, alongside the acquisition of a 100 percent stake in Appistoki, a distinguished firm specializing in Salesforce solutions, serving clients in the United States, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Ireland, and the Philippines.

With over 30 years of experience, NOVARE excels in software development, IT infrastructure, data analytics, and cybersecurity, consistently exceeding expectations.

According to William Yu, chief technology officer of NOVARE, their clients range from major banking institutions, telecommunications players, and government agencies, served mainly by their cybersecurity segment.

“Major part of NOVARE’s business is cybersecurity. We carry product solutions, products, and services that focus on that. Indeed, the number of data breaches in the country has increased substantially in the last few years,” Yu said in a press conference, reacting to the question on how they would ensure that their clients will be guarded from such cyberattacks.

“We are seeing a transition in these kinds of attacks. Last year was mostly ransomware attacks, now we are seeing an increase in credential captures and credential use vulnerability. Either way, we are seeing threat actors that are being increasingly creative. With this, we do see that our cybersecurity business will continue to grow,” he added.

Yu said the telco and banking industries are now NOVARE’s focused areas, but seeing their cybersecurity business to be a lot broader in the coming years.

He said NOVARE has more than 50 clients in terms of cybersecurity services.

Rebranding

Meanwhile, NOVARE CEO Victor Silvino said the new identity of MDI comes from a 36-year legacy of leadership in innovation and excellence in forward-thinking technology.

He said the rebranding embodies a compelling mission to enhance digital transformation in the country. Being at the forefront of advancements in APIs (Application Programming Interface), cloud computing, and big data allows NOVARE to deliver a strategic focus on purposeful technology in the ASEAN region.

In its client-focused approach to propagate innovative technology, Silvino said NOVARE is committed to fostering exceptional interactions with its customers, employees, and partners.

"The rebranding is a major milestone as digital transformation initiatives accelerate in the Philippines and ASEAN. With NOVARE, we hope to make a difference in that fluid transformation space. We will lead with conscience as we pioneer technologies that propel renewal and sustainable progress," he said.

Acquisition of Appistoki

In a bold initiative to fortify its Asia Pacific leadership in technology, the shareholders of NOVARE acquired a 100 percent stake in Appistoki, a distinguished firm specializing in Salesforce solutions, serving clients in the US, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Ireland, and the Philippines.

The strategic acquisition forms the NOVARE Group of companies and will enhance NOVARE's technological capabilities and strengthen its relationships with key industry players in the Philippines, particularly among primary Salesforce users.

"With Appistoki joining the NOVARE Group, we are excited to deliver innovative solutions that embody our commitment to purposeful technology."

Abhijeet Kulkarni, Appistoki's Founder and Chief Executive Officer, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the shared vision and values that will continue to drive their success and impact in the community.
