CASIGURAN, Aurora – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed and turned over two multipurpose facilities to the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) on 27 February this year.
In a social media post on 10 March, the Aurora District Engineering Office (DEO) turned over the facilities to the Provincial Government. Aurora Lone District Representative Rommel Rico Angara led the event, joined by Provincial Governor Reynante Tolentino, Vice Governor Jennifer Araña, along with key officials from DPWH and APECO.
In his statement, District Engineer Roderick Andal emphasized that the two newly completed structures, located within the APECO Corporate Campus, include a P16.83-million health center and a P4.95-million Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), both designed to enhance local infrastructure and promote sustainability.
“The APECO health center will provide residents of Barangay Esteves and neighboring communities with better access to medical services, improving healthcare delivery. The MRF will strengthen waste management and recycling efforts, contributing to a cleaner environment and supporting sustainability initiatives,” Andal explained.
The 373.77-square-meter health facility is equipped with essential amenities, including a minor surgical room, birthing and labor rooms, a primary clinical laboratory, pharmacy, dental room, X-ray room, and treatment areas, as well as key utilities such as solar panels, a generator set, LED lighting, and air conditioning units to ensure optimal service.
