DAVAO CITY — The City Disaster Risk and Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), through its Emergency Operations Center (EOC), placed the city under the “Blue Alert” status on the 88th Araw ng Dabaw celebration due to anticipated high turnout of visitors.
The CDRRMO, through its resolution, stated that in line with this, the anticipated increase in public gatherings during the celebration is expected, including activities in public areas.
The Sangguniang Panglungsod also passed a resolution activating the EOC on 27 February, two days before the event commenced on 1 March.
The city’s “Blue Alert” status will adopt throughout the celebration of the founding anniversary from 1 to 16 March.
The CDRRMO will also ensure a 24-hour surveillance on weather systems and incidents to protect the safety and security of the visiting public.
The resolution also stated that the deployment of emergency resources is meticulously arranged to guarantee a safe, secure celebration and increased public security.
