Celebrity makeup artist RB Chanco took to social media to express her love and admiration for longtime client Kris Aquino after reuniting with her for a special occasion.
Aquino, known as the Queen of All Media, made her first public appearance in years on 25 February at PeopleAsia’s People of the Year 2025 awards. She attended the event to support her close friend, esteemed Filipino fashion designer Michael Leyva, who was among the honorees.
In a heartfelt Instagram post on 26 February, Chanco shared her emotions about working with Aquino again after three years.
"After three years, I finally got to do her makeup again—something I had hoped for but feared might never happen. But last night, it did, and I couldn’t have been happier," she wrote.
Acknowledging Aquino’s ongoing health struggles, Chanco revealed the challenges of applying makeup on someone with severe allergies and sensitivities.
"Kris is still very sick—frail, fragile, and fighting every day—which made every makeup product and brushstroke feel like a risk. With her severe allergies and flares, I was terrified she’d react, especially since she hasn’t worn makeup since her health declined. But by some miracle, her reaction was minimal, and that alone was a huge relief."
Despite her brief appearance, Chanco emphasized its significance, calling it a testament to Aquino’s resilience.
"Despite everything, she made her first public appearance since becoming very ill. The real queen, the Kris we all love and miss, is still here—stronger than we know. And maybe, just maybe, this is the start of something more."
She concluded her post with hope, celebrating Aquino’s return to the public eye and looking forward to more moments together.
"Finally, #RBeautified… again, and hopefully, just the first of many more times to come."
