At the heart of bustling BGC where residential and commercial lifestyles meet, Ultra Lagree recently opened its latest studio inside Mitsukoshi BGC. Conceptualized by Sebastian Lagree, it is a thoroughly studied mix of time under tension workout without missing the components of bodybuilding techniques. Each 45-minute class is always complete with cardio, weight and strength training performed on the revolutionary Megaformer machine.
At the core of the Lagree Fitness workout is the Megaformer machine. First unveiled at Ultra Lagree BGC, the fitness equipment is built to meet diverse workout demands, regardless of fitness levels, ages, and body types. It combines resistance training and cardio into one seamless and efficient workout. As every muscle stretches and contracts, the machine keeps you balanced and true to the optimal form. The best part? Every session can burn up to 800 calories, sculpting a stronger, tighter and more toned body in just 45 minutes.
All of Ultra Lagree’s coaches are trained on the proper adjustments and modifications on the Megaformer. Master trainer Jai Lawan explains that the machine is designed utilizing hinges, with the revolutionary Platform Lift allowing users to move smoothly through classes while also protecting the joints and connective tissues as they workout. By allowing the rear and front platforms to lift to various angles, users can more easily stabilize their joints during movements and activate slow-twitch muscles to ensure less impact is placed on the joints and less inflammation occurs in connective tissues during and post workout. Modifications are also offered during each class to cater to every attendees’ respective fitness level.
Lawan further shares, “Lagree is a combination of strength training and cardio, and since the smaller muscle groups are also targeted, it is great for both strengthening and for injury prevention. It may look intimidating but every workout challenges everyone to step outside their comfort zone to be stronger and better.”
The idea of bringing Lagree to the Philippines began after Harold and Ela Lee experienced their first class in Los Angeles in 2018. Realizing that it was an effective and efficient 45-minute workout that they both appreciated — they liked how the low impact on the body yielded high intensity results. Thinking that Filipinos might want to incorporate this fitness regimen and complement their high intensity workout with Lagree’s low impact movements, while strengthening their body in the process, they took the risk and opened their Ultra Lagree brand in Estancia Mall in Pasig.
“We knew it wasn’t going to be simple to grow a Lagree community since it is a specialized workout that was quite hard for some to understand, but we succeeded in offering high-quality classes, urging people to give it a try, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere to give all our clients a personalized service,” Harold Lee said.
