The critically acclaimed Broadway musical Come from Away is set to premiere in Manila this 6-29 June at the Samsung Performing Arts Theater in Circuit Makati.
Presented by GMG Productions and Stages, the multi-award-winning production tells the remarkable true story of 7,000 airline passengers who were unexpectedly stranded in Gander, Newfoundland, following the 11 September 2001 attacks. Originally premiering on Broadway in 2017, the musical — featuring a book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein — has been widely praised for its moving storytelling, stirring music, and celebration of human kindness in times of crisis.
The Manila staging brings a fresh creative vision with an all-Filipino cast, including Cathy Azanza-Dy, Caisa Borromeo, Garrett Bolden, Mikkie Bradshaw-Volante, Becca Coates, Steven Cadd, Mayen Cadd, Rycharde Everly, Topper Fabregas, Sheila Francisco, Carla Guevara Laforteza, Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, Gian Magdangal, George Schulze, and Chino Veguillas. The production will be helmed by director Michael Williams, with Rony Fortich as musical director and Delphine Buencamino as choreographer.
Tickets will go on sale starting 22 February through TicketWorld, with prices beginning at P900.
