The Pasig City Regional Trial Court has ordered the transfer of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) founder Apollo Quiboloy back to jail from a hospital, a lawyer said Wednesday.

Atty. Joeie Domingo said the Pasig City Regional Trial Court-Branch 159 issued the transfer order for Quiboloy to return to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Pasig City "unless there is a clear showing that accused Quiboloy is actually suffering from a medical condition requiring immediate and specialized attention."

The lawyer added that the court further noted that the BJMP is equipped with adequate medical facilities to assist accused Quiboloy should an urgent need arise.

Quiboloy was allowed to stay in a government hospital in January as he was allegedly suffering from pneumonia.

Domingo said Quiboloy's camp requested that he be allowed to remain in the hospital and to record videos for his senatorial bid.

She said the prosecution, especially the private prosecutors, deemed his claim of being sick doubtful, noting that as a candidate, it is a requirement to be fit and healthy to serve the Filipino people.

"Does he think the people are stupid that he can get away with being elected senator, but tells the court that he is weak and that he needs to be in the hospital?" she added.

A non-bailable qualified human trafficking charge under Section 4(a) of Republic Act 9208, as amended, was filed against Quiboloy before the Pasig court.

He is also facing charges under Section 5(b) and Section 10(a) of Republic Act 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act.
