Marcos urges LGUs to sustain good governance at LMP General Assembly
President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. attended the 2025 League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) General Assembly on 12 February at The Manila Hotel, where LMP national president Mayor Joseph Bernos presented the League’s 2022-2025 Accomplishment Report. In his speech, Marcos urged local officials to sustain their positive impact beyond their terms and emphasized their crucial role as frontline responders in governance. He praised initiatives such as the Seal of Good Local Governance, the Electronic Business One-Stop Shop (eBOSS), and the KALINISAN sa Bagong Pilipinas Program for promoting efficiency and sustainability. The President highlighted the increasing number of LGUs meeting high governance standards, with 714 achieving fiscal discipline and transparency in 2024. He called on municipal leaders to embrace new technologies, foster partnerships, and uphold public service values to ensure long-term national progress.
