Get ready for an animated adventure filled with courage and friendship! Nathan Studios, a pioneering Filipino family-owned production company known for its diverse film portfolio, is set to make history with its first animated feature, Buffalo Kids, hitting Philippine theaters on 12 February.
Directed by Gabo Galdochi and produced by Pedro Solís, the film has already won audiences across Europe and Asia and is now set to captivate Filipino moviegoers.
The film premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in June 2024, garnering widespread acclaim. Featuring the voices of Alisha Weir, Conor MacNeill, Gemma Arterton, Sean Bean, and Stephen Graham, Buffalo Kids promises a captivating cinematic experience.
The story follows two Irish orphans, Mary and Tom, on a turn-of-the-century caper across the U.S. as they search for their uncle. Their journey leads them to Nick, an orphan with cerebral palsy, whom they quickly welcome as family. The bond between Mary and Nick forms the emotional core of the film, inspired by the real-life sibling relationship between co-director Pedro Solís García’s daughter, Alejandra, and his son, Nicolás, who sadly passed away before seeing the film that he inspired.
Nathan Studios' commitment to high-quality, family-friendly storytelling shines through Buffalo Kids. Recent teasers hint at an action-packed adventure filled with heroes, villains, and, of course, buffalos! Don't miss this captivating tale of resilience, friendship, and family when it arrives in Philippine cinemas on 12 February.
