What a mess!
“ With the presidential elections of 2028 in focus, the salivating individuals gathered more than twice the signatures required by the Lower House for direct transmission to the Senate.

What a lot of mess there is, despite anything to the contrary in the positive pronouncements we’re hearing from our high officials.
Let’s dwell on just a few major subjects for better clarity and understanding of the issues, since going over a lot may lead to losing your head, and the National Mental Hospital may not accommodate enough people. I’ll focus first on the impeachment complaint filed against the Vice President.
The impeachment move started as early as the last quarter of 2024, though denied by the modern St. Peters. VP Sara Z. Duterte already knew it early on.
Anyway, a quack section of the legislature was formed, with the trapos and the Communist adjutants leading the “clean” crusade (apparently to divert attention from what exactly they’ve been involved in), accusing the Vice President of irregularities based on Notices of Disallowances (NoDs) by the Commission on Audit (CoA), etcetera.
The quacks, themselves, know however stupid they are that an NoD is common to almost all government agencies. It’s not a crime, as it is called a NOTICE for the recipient agency/official to respond to some questions/clarifications or comply with the audit requirements of the constitutional body.
The CoA, which has the exclusive constitutional mandate on the matter of government spending audits, has not yet come to any conclusion as to whether there was deviation or not from the rules by the Office of the Vice President or the Secretary of Education regarding the manner of spending its funds.
Congress, especially the Lower House, despite having the “power of the purse,” has no mandate to do what is constitutionally the responsibility of the CoA. But the quacks proceeded with haste and with obvious personal and criminal intent to malign the VP, repeatedly asking about the issue pointed out by the CoA in its NoD.
Earlier, some solons abhorred not being able to get the answers they wanted from the VP on apparently non-relevant House hearing questions related to the proposed DepEd and OVP 2025 budget. The VP stood pat on her decision to allow the Committee on Appropriations to decide on her proposed budget.
But ab initio, the intent was really to destroy the VP’s image and get rid of her earlier than 2028. The articles of impeachment transmitted to the Senate included corruption, malversation, misuse of confidential funds, betrayal of public trust and threats to the lives of the highest officials of the land.
All allegations, unproven, were included in the articles of impeachment.
With the presidential elections of 2028 in focus, the salivating individuals gathered more than twice the signatures required by the Lower House for direct transmission to the Senate, which decides on impeachment cases.
However, it failed to beat the clock. Meanwhile, Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo denied being a signatory to the complaint.
Senate President Chiz Escudero, with sarcasm, accused the Lower House of sitting on the complaints for a long two months, as it reached the Office of the Senate President at sunset on 6 February 2025, when it adjourned the session for the 2025 local elections.
The senators, some seeking reelection, will reconvene on 2 June of this year. Escudero got irked because the impeachment proponents were pressuring him to act right there and then, as if the Senate is a Lower House surrogate.
