Kanlaon Volcano in Negros had 23 volcanic earthquakes in the past 24 hours, according to the Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
In its latest bulletin released at midnight on 8 February, Phivolcs reported that the volcano emitted 4,186 tonnes of sulfur dioxide, with moderate plumes rising up to 75 meters before drifting southwest.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall on the afternoon of 6 February caused lahar flows in the towns of La Castellana and Moises Padilla. According to the Moises Padilla Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, these flows were observed at Intiguiwan Bridge and traveled down the lower slopes of the volcano.

Kanlaon remains under Alert Level 3, meaning a six-kilometer radius around the volcano is strictly off-limits. Authorities also continue to prohibit aircrafts from flying near the area.
