Laguindingan airport employee returns lost bag

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) commended on Saturday an employee of Laguindingan Airport for displaying exceptional integrity by ensuring the safe return of a lost bag containing P59,684 in cash.

According to CAAP, on 30 January at around 7 p.m., while carrying out his routine duties at the arrival area, Nader Talib, a ground maintenance unit employee, discovered an unattended, unsecured bag.

Demonstrating honesty and professionalism, Talib immediately notified the CAAP Service and Intelligence Unit about the found item. The CSIS then coordinated with the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Unit (PNP AVSEU) K9 unit to follow security protocols.

Upon a thorough inspection, authorities confirmed that the bag contained a substantial amount of money and important documents. They were able to identify the rightful owner — a passenger on flight 5J2527, which had just arrived from Manila.

Thanks to the quick and professional actions of the CSIS team and PNP AVSEU personnel, the bag and its valuable contents were successfully returned to its owner.
