CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — The Department of Agriculture (DA) Central Luzon is selling rice at P29 per kilo as part of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) event, which opened at SM Pampanga on 31 January.
According to DA Central Luzon, the rice — sourced from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) — will be available to the public while supplies last.
The KNP also showcases fresh vegetables, processed fish, pasalubong delicacies, health juices, fresh eggs, woodcraft, and other locally made products from farmers and fisherfolk across the region.
The event is led by DA’s Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), in collaboration with SM Supermalls, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), NIA and the Provincial Government of Pampanga.
Among those present at the opening were DA Region 3 Regional Executive Director Dr. Eduardo L. Lapuz Jr., Regional Technical Director Arthur Dayrit, Ph.D., AMAD Chief Menchie Nogoy, DoLE Region 3 Regional Director Geraldine M. Panlilio, DSWD Pampanga Provincial Partnership Officer Angelica C. Manalo, DTI Provincial DirectorElenita Ordoño, Pampanga 3rd District Board Member Atty. June Canlas, and OIC-Provincial Agriculturist Jimmy Manliclic.
KNP events are held in SM malls nationwide and often include job fairs by DoLE, giving Kapampangans and other attendees an opportunity to find employment.
