Actress and TV host Karla Estrada opened up about her past relationship with ex-boyfriend Jam Ignacio, revealing that he remains the only ex she is not yet friends with.
“No, we’re not. Lahat ng ex ko, friends ko. Itong ex ko pa lang na ito ang hindi pa,” Estrada shared in an interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda.
(No, we’re not. All of my exes are my friends. It’s just this ex of mine who isn't yet.)
Estrada and Ignacio ended their relationship in 2024 after meeting in 2019. While she did not disclose the reason for their breakup, she expressed optimism that they may eventually rebuild their friendship.
“I think magiging kaibigan ko iyan eventually. Kasi ang pagpapatawad, hindi naman overnight,” she said.
(I think that he will be my friend eventually. Because forgiveness doesn't happen overnight.)
Estrada believes that forgiveness takes time and should come naturally.
(It's not just me who needs to forgive — I need to forgive myself too. On his part, he needs to forgive me too. And when the day comes to forgive each other and be friends, that's exactly what will happen.)
However, she acknowledged the possibility that they may never reconnect, especially since they do not share children.
(It's also possible that we may never see or talk to each other again since we don’t have children. We have no connection. But for my own peace, I will eventually be able to forgive.)
Ignacio is now engaged to his new partner, Jellie Aw.
When asked if she is open to falling in love again, Estrada responded with a laugh:
“Of course! Walang taong makakapigil na magmahal kang muli.”
(Of course! No one can stop you from falling in love again.)
Estrada also touched on her son Daniel Padilla’s highly publicized breakup with Kathryn Bernardo, admitting that, as a mother, she was deeply affected by the hurtful comments thrown at her son online.
(Maybe these hurtful words thrown at Daniel in recent years — that's what I can't stand.)
She emphasized that only Daniel and Kathryn know the real reasons behind their split and that they need space to resolve their issues privately.
(I think the separation is between Daniel and Kathryn. They know, they will resolve it, whatever the reason. But the words people say — which you can barely stomach and are so rude — that's what I can't handle.)
Estrada admitted that the negativity made her feel overwhelmed at times.
(I feel like it's going to kill me, I can barely handle it. I feel like I need to find the people who talk like that and answer them one by one.)
Fortunately, she found comfort in her friends from the industry, who helped her stay calm and reminded her to let Daniel and Kathryn handle their own problems.
(I'm talking to you, we're talking to our other friends. So the best thing we can do is let them handle it.)
