Gloria Romero's family thanks supporters for love and prayers

The family of veteran actress Gloria Romero has expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, prayers, and support they have received following her passing.

In an interview with the DAILY TRIBUNE, Romero’s daughter Marites Gutierrez and grandson Chris shared their appreciation for the overwhelming affection shown to the late screen legend.

“Nakakapuno po siya ng puso. Because my lola gave her all in the industry, she did it to entertain everybody. I’m so sure that she’s happy to know that her fans out there still love her even though she has passed away,” Chris said.

Marites echoed the sentiment, highlighting the deep respect people had for her mother, not just as an actress but as a person.

“Not only her fans but also the people who knew her behind the scenes really appreciated her. When they come here, they say that my mom was very proper, very kind, and a good-hearted lady. I think everybody loves my mom, kaya maraming salamat,” she said.

Overcome with emotion, Marites reflected on how blessed she felt to have Gloria as her mother.

“I am really blessed because God gave me the best mom in the world. Wala po akong ma-complain,” she recalled.

Chris also reminisced about his time growing up with his grandmother, sharing how deeply he will miss her presence.

“She was always there for me growing up. It’s going to be weird not having her around. A lot of me is because I was with her,” he said.

Dubbed the “Queen of Philippine Movies,” Gloria Romero peacefully passed away on 25 January 2025, at the age of 91. She was cremated and laid to rest on 29 January.
