ICC-CC approves Samal-Davao bridge restructuring

The Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee (ICC-CC), co-chaired by Finance Secretary Frederick Go, has approved the restructuring of the ongoing Samal Island-Davao City Connector (SIDC) Project to improve connectivity, expand access to essential services, and support economic opportunities in Mindanao.
The project was endorsed to the Economic Development Council on 22 October for consideration. Funded through official development assistance (ODA), the project will connect Davao City and Samal Island through a four-lane, toll-free bridge designed to accommodate around 25,000 vehicles daily.
Once completed, the bridge is expected to provide more convenient access to jobs, education, markets, tourism destinations, and essential services while supporting local businesses and economic activity in the area.
“By improving connectivity between Davao City and Samal Island, we are supporting local businesses and creating more opportunities for communities,” Go said.
The project will next be submitted to the Economic Development Council, chaired by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., for final approval.
