CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY — A masked robber went on a shooting spree after he failed to find the drawer of a vault he mistook as cabinet in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental Saturday morning.
Police report the robber entered a grocery store brandishing a pistol and demanding the cashier to hand over the money kept in a drawer of a cabinet.
“Kuarta o kibuhi?” (Money or life) he told the cashier at gunpoint.
The cashier meekly pointed to the cabinet where the small vault was kept.
The robber immediately proceeded and opened the cabinet asking where the drawer was. Instead of responding, the cashier scampered and ran away.
Thinking that the cashier fooled him, he began shooting the escaping cashier and other employees but missed.
After missing his target, the robber hurriedly left the grocery and fled on board a motorcycle empty-handed.
The cashier told responding policemen the money was placed in the vault which was not locked at that time.
