Cake Joyce Magday, the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) in Riyadh who sought the assistance of DAILY TRIBUNE’s digital show Usapang OFW last Thursday, 9 January, is now in the custody of her Philippine recruitment agency’s Saudi Arabia counterpart.
This was confirmed to this paper by Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Undersecretary for Foreign Employment and Welfare Felicitas Bay on Thursday.
“Magday is now under the custody of her Saudi agency, with a final exit visa already issued,” Bay said.
Magday’s Philippine recruitment agency, Top High Global Resources Inc., also informed DAILY TRIBUNE via text that she is scheduled to arrive in the Philippines on Sunday, 18 January.
Magday, who had worked for her employer for nearly a month, complained about the long work hours without proper meals which caused health issues such as severe headaches.
Her husband, Allan Macasling, said that his wife’s health was worsening.
“She’s growing weak and often complains of headaches and stomach pain,” he said.
Usapang OFW airs Tuesday and Thursday, from 3 to 4 p.m. on DAILY TRIBUNE’s digital platforms on Facebook, YouTube and TikTok.
