A former commissioner of the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission, now a notable technology stakeholder, has extolled the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) for its nationwide Rally for Peace, a remarkable initiative to foster unity and harmony across the Philippines.
In a statement sent to DAILY TRIBUNE, Atty. Nick Conti, CEO of Capstone-Intel Corp., said the nationwide event underscores the importance of peace, solidarity, and the collective will to build a more harmonious society.
On Monday, the Philippine National Police assessed that 1.2 million members of INC flocked to the Quirino Grandstand, which was organized to call for peace amid political bickering ahead of the 2025 midterm elections.
"The INC Rally for Peace is a testament to the enduring Filipino spirit of unity. It shows that, despite our differences, we can come together to advocate for peace, justice, and understanding," Conti said.
"The sheer scale of this event, with rallies held simultaneously in various locations, reflects the deep commitment of the Filipino people to a peaceful future," he added.
The peace rallies were held across multiple sites in the Philippines, including Metro Manila, Cebu, Isabela, Albay, Bacolod, Iloilo, Ormoc, Pagadian, and Butuan, among other places.
Each location witnessed thousands of participants joining in solidarity, sending a powerful message of peace and unity to the entire nation.
"The use of technology to connect these rallies demonstrates how modern tools can be leveraged to promote collective action and foster national unity. It is inspiring to see how INC has utilized these platforms to amplify their message of peace, creating a ripple effect that we hope will resonate throughout the country," the lawyer stressed.
Conti heads the organization CLICK, which, according to him, stands in solidarity with INC and all Filipinos who participated in this significant event.
“We are inspired by this collective call for peace and are committed to supporting similar initiatives that aim to unite and uplift our nation. Together, let us continue to work towards a peaceful, connected, and united Philippines. While our advocacy focuses on harnessing digital platforms to bridge gaps in society, we are inspired by the INC's Rally for Peace, which beautifully exemplifies the use of technology to foster national unity,” he explained.
Further, he said CLICK is dedicated to promoting connectivity, literacy, innovation, and knowledge, and recognizes the power of technology in uniting people for common causes.
