Department of Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian on Monday reiterated that all Filipinos experiencing hunger can go and eat at the agency-operated Walang Gutom Kitchen located in Pasay City.
“Everybody is welcome because no one wants to be hungry, and everyone needs help,” Gatchalian said in a television interview.
He said there is no verification process to enter the soup kitchen facility, but basic information of individuals availing of the free food is being collected for monitoring purposes.
Since its launch on 16 December, more than 10,000 individuals have availed themselves of the hot, nutritious and healthy food at the agency’s “Walang Gutom Kitchen.”
