
SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — A new firing range opened inside this premier Freeport on Tuesday, providing gun enthusiasts and law enforcers a place to practice their gun shooting skills.
According to Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) Chairman and Administrator Eduardo Jose L. Aliño, the new Subic Freeport Shooting Range Inc. is located at the Corregidor Highway, Ilanin Forest.
The commercial shooting and target range aims to promote target shooting as a sport inside this premier Freeport, while also developing target shooting or shooters at par with the world’s best target shooters.
Aliño and the SBMA Board of Directors led the opening of the firing range along with the country’s best shooters like Jethro Dionisio and Khalil Viray.
The facility is a former US naval building named Bldg. 2027 that has an area of 3,000 square meter, with the building area only having 100 square meters. The company leased the area for 25 years, and has a committed investment of P25 million, and a workforce of 15 people.
A special provision was given to the SBMA Law Enforcement personnel to utilize the facility free of charge for training purposes.
