It's a new year, and fresh opportunities are already unfolding for young stars Francine Diaz and Seth Fedelin as they welcome 2025.
Diaz and Fedelin were recently honored to star in My Future You, one of the films featured in the golden anniversary of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). The film also won multiple awards during the Gabi ng Parangal on 27 December.
In an interview, Fedelin teased what fans can look forward to in 2025.
“This 2025, dapat nilang abangan ’yung bago… I think sisimulan this January, hopefully. ‘Nobody,’ abangan nila,” he shared.
(In 2025, they should watch out for something new... I think it will start this January, hopefully. ‘Nobody,’ they should look out for it.)
Diaz also expressed excitement for more opportunities, especially projects with Fedelin as a love team.
“Gusto namin more projects together talaga, kasi this is the beginning po e. Gusto naming ipakita na kaya namin. If given a chance lang po talaga—we will deliver. Lahat po ibibigay namin, ang lahat ng puwede naming gawin. I would like to say na this is the beginning,” she said.
(We really want more projects together because this is the beginning. We want to show that we can do it. If given the chance, we will deliver. We will give our all and do everything we can. I would like to say this is the beginning.)
The pair described being part of this year’s MMFF as a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“Maging parte ka ng golden year ng MMFF, 50th anniversary nila, sobrang malaking bagay. Bitbit naming ’to hanggang pagtanda namin na naging parte kami dito,” Fedelin shared.
(Being part of MMFF's golden year, their 50th anniversary, is such a big deal. We will carry this with us even as we grow old, knowing we were part of it.)
Diaz echoed the sentiment, expressing gratitude for the recognition their film received.
“Si Lord talaga lahat. Hindi naman po lahat ng mayroon kami ngayon, hindi po ito suwerte lang; we consider it as a blessing,” she said.
(It’s really all thanks to the Lord. Not everything we have right now is just luck; we consider it a blessing.)
“Pinagdasal namin ito, and tinupad ni Lord,” (We prayed for this, and the Lord made it come true.) Fedelin added.
Directed by Crisanto B. Aquino, My Future You tells the story of Lex and Karen, whose love endures despite a 15-year age gap.
